DIY Green Tea Facial Toner

I’ve always been a tea addict, I NEVER say no to a cup of tea. Green, red, white, black, honey, mint, fruit, vanilla or chocolate tea, cold or hot. Tea as a beverage has limitless benefits as it is antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It calms stress and fights cholesterol, and also protects the vascular system. Tea can also help loosing weight and burning fat. Plus it tastes so good.
Green tea, the superstar of teas, is known as the best tea to protect the cells from aging and contains a important quantity of vitamin C and caffeine.
Green tea is more and more used in cosmetics under the appellation: Camellia sinensis leaf extract (check your product’s components) as it is proved that it can reduce skin inflammation so it works great against redness, and due to its hight content of antioxidant (thanks to polyphenols) it is able to slow down signs of aging. Green tea has an important anti-bacterial activity which can reduce acne and imperfection.
Just like aloe vera, it’s a “universal” product as it can be used by everyone regardless of the skin type. Oily and acne-prone skin? Green tea fights skin bacterias and purifies it. Sensitive with redness ? As an anti-inflammatory it reduces redness and soothes the skin. Dry and mature skin ? It’s a great anti-aging, anti-wrinkle.

Green tea has always been an essential component in Korean skincare products, and it started expending worldwide a while ago. You can find it in toners, cleansers, serums, night creams, eye creams and even bb creams and powders.

I personally love using green tea facial toners. It’s great to wake and refresh the skin, sooth any inflammation, purify your complexion and makes your skin glow. I was using the innisfree Green tea balancing skin toner which was not bad but not totally natural (not natural at all actually), and since I prefer using natural skin care products now I decided to make my own using organic green tea bags. It’s a super easy DIY and I felt a HUGE difference when I started using my homemade GT toner.

Yep…It’s as simple, a green tea bag and hot water then pour the drink in a spray bottle or a regular one if you prefer using your toner with a cotton pad. Keep it in the fridge for 4 days and use morning and night after your cleansing…Oh the amazing refreshing feeling on the skin and the glow that it gives !
For extra benefits, you can customize this toner by adding other specific ingredients depending on your skin problems.
– Acne: you can add apple cider vinegar, tea tree essential oil or any other purifying essential oil, even baking soda and flower waters (mint, witch hazel…)
– Redness and sensitive skin: try one spoon of aloe vera gel, chamomile essential oil
– Mature skin or wrinkle: rose water or any anti-aging essential oil

Using this homemade natural toner with pure organic green tea will make a difference. it’s 100% natural, ridiculously cheap and no less effective than other toners, on the contrary, it’s even better for the skin.
